Studio: Day 6

Today we mostly finished up some guitar over dubs, and lots of vocals.

Vocals are sounding amazing. We're taking a different approach to everything this time around, and I think it is paying off.

Even guitar is being done with a whole new approach... and so far, being about 90% done, i'm loving it. The guitar and bass tones really work well together on this album, where as the last one, I felt they did not mesh together well.

We also had a guest in the studio today. Usually we've been working with Dave, and Mike in the studio, but today Davey came in. He just started working at the studio, and i've known Davey for awhile, so it was cool to have him come sit in on the project, and help out too. He recorded some of Luca's vocals today, mostly on the song "Silver Age".

We haven't really talked much about song names for the new album... so here is a run down of some of the songs.

"Blood and Iron" - I'd say 'Blood and Iron' is this album's 'I Hate'. It doesn't sound like 'I Hate', but it has that opening song aggression. It is really heavy and i'm thinking it is the perfect first song for people to listen to so they can get the album.

"The Bronze Horseman" - So far, this one is shaping up to be my favorite on the album. It is another song that is really heavy, full of aggression, but is also done in a different style than we usually do. It is for sure a step in a new direction of "heavy" for us. I think this song would be my favorite to make into a video... but it probably wouldn't get much play on TV.

"Hero City" - This song is sounding amazing. Guitar wise there is so many different things going on in this song, and its probably our most noticeably different song.

"Road of Life" - The solo on this song will make old mothers and unborn children cry.

The rest of the songs on the album are "Honor Amongst Thieves", "Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood", "Empress Catherine the Great", "Silver Age", and that is pretty much it for now. There might be more tracks on the album, none of which are named right now.

But there you go, a little update about what we've got going on for the new album.

More updates soon!
